Hell Week is Done!!!

Yes, you got that right!!!Exams got over at 10:30 AM today and truthfully, I am actually wondering what I am going to do in the next 3 weeks.. I will eventually figure it out, I guess...First an established fact..I WILL PASS all my exams (hmm...Strategy might be a close call.....) but the rest were pretty comfortable given my Geek background!!!! Exams were written in full subfusc, which basically means a black suit, bow tie and our traditional "capes"!This week has been pretty shitty with a minimal amount of sleep and I have no doubt I am going to catch up over the next few days. Most of us are going to go back home ( yours truly will stay put in Oxf.) so hectic packing is going on, followed by ,of course, hectic partying !!!

OK, people..party time!!!

TurkeyMania!!!!

Ok...tried real hard to lie low here and study for the exams..but this just becomes an addiction!!! 4 days to go and counting....I had the opportunity to invigilate/supervise the Association of Certified Chartered Accountants examination currently being held in St Hugh's for a couple of days... Interesting to see that the invigilators do have to do a lot of work other than walking around trying to make students taking exams feel ill at ease:-))..This is mostly paperwork that needs to be done apart from ,of course, supervising the candidates ensuring a smooth examination...Funnily enough, it also involves having to check the toilets for "damnable" material!!!!

Sunday, we had the opportunity to have a turkey dinner, (thanks to Hiro for these outstanding whims that strike him from time to time) and so we went at it hammer and tongs. Me , Saheel and Hiro shopped on Saturday for the party essentials , including an 8 Kg frozen turkey that was just one massive ball of ice!!! ..Must mention here that Hiro carried the turkey in a backpack and was so bitter about how his butt was in danger of frostbite!!!!The St Hugh's MBA folks chipped in with lotsa other eatables and Brian Brooks ultimately got the honour of carving the turkey after I sorta messed it up (he kept looking for its breast!!! And I can assure you most of the comments that gave rise to are unprintable!!!)!!! Attached are a few photos....We broke up around 1:30 that morning, not before Brian had finished 2 bottles of wine!!!

The cramfest has now begun and there are now little to no MBAs about on the streets of Oxford!!! On the bright side , however, St Hugh's does look cool at 3:00AM in the morning!!!

Perspective, what???

6:59:18 PM

My last and final assignment in Options Pricing and Derivatives for this term has finally been uploaded, at 6:59:18 PM (so the system informs me).The past 3 days have been bad, especially since the Company Financial Analysis report was due for submission today. My team mates (thanks Anoop & Shelby) took the brunt on that one and we managed a pretty decent submission (or so I'd like to think!!).But the tragedy is that the real work starts now for the "wonderful" exams hardly a week away...So I will be lying low for a while.

One word on the Oxford grading system...For those who are not aware of how this twisted academic world functions, we should get a few facts straight...You NEVER get 100%..Live with it because that is a fact of life!! In fact, a distinction holder at Oxford (and there are damn few of them) is a person who has managed a 70%.The typical grade lies between 60% and 65%...
And oh yes, I forgot..I "kicked ass" in the German Progress Test that we had yesterday(again, so I think..at least till the marks are out!!!)

Cheers..Will let you guys know how the exams went!!!!
